Matt Hood has served as choir director at FBC Lafayette since August 2018. A graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, IL, Matt is a native of Crawfordsville, IN. He is married to Pastor Lisa and they have one fun-loving son.
Matt is an accomplished tenor saxophonist and he loves music of all kinds, particularly jazz. Back in North Carolina, Matt served as the lead tenor saxophone player for the Old ’74 Jazz Band based in Rutherford County. Since relocating to Indiana, he has served as a member of the Crawfordsville Citizen’s Band (2018), and he has also played with the jazz band at Wabash College (2018-2019).
Matt is also a woodworking enthusiast, and he completed the build of his first wooden boat in 2018 (and he’s already thinking about the next one he wants to build.). When he isn’t around First Baptist, you can find Matt helping customers in the building materials department at Menard’s.
