First Baptist Church is the new home of the Health Hut. The Health Hut is a ministry of University Church. The Health Hut collects health items, and then distributes health kits to people in our community who need it. We will be joining with First Christian Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, Brown Street United Methodist Church, and St. John’s Episcopal Church on Sunday July 6th at 10:00 am out in the street for a combined worship service. We will meet on 6th Street between First Christian Church and Trinity United Methodist Church.
First Baptist Church will gather with the other downtown churches for our annual Blessing of the Palms service at the corner of 6th and North Street at 10:15 am on Sunday April 13th. Then, First Baptist will join with First Christian for a special time of worship together at First Christian Church.
There was an article in the paper today about Special Hands School of Art and First Baptist Church. We are in conversations with Special Hands School of Art to partner together to bring a school of art to Lafayette for people with special needs. First Baptist Church has been a long time participant in LUM Jubilee Christmas. The church helps provide presents, gift cards, and food to families in need from our community. The parents come and pick out the presents for their kids from what we have gathered, receive the gift cards and food, and are able to present them to their family…
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month we have a meal together at the church. This month on December 11th at 6:00 pm we will enjoy a meal together, and then go caroling in the neighborhood. Come and invite your friends and neighbors to join us.
