Prelude – The King of Love My Shepherd Is – Melanie Manges, organ
Welcome to Worship – Charles Gullion
Hymn of Praise – Now Thank We All Our God
(Verse 1) Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things has done, in whom his world rejoices;
Who, from our mother’s arms, has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
(Verse 2) O may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us;
And keep us in his grace and guide us when perplexed,
And free us from all ills in this world and the next.
Call to Worship* (inspired by Psalm 123) – Charles Gullion
Great and Glorious God, we gather to worship you.
We lift our eyes to you, in reverent awe before your majesty.
Great is the Lord our God, and greatly to be praised!
Generous and Merciful God, we come to worship you.
We lift our eyes to you, giving thanks for your compassion.
Gracious is the Lord our God, and greatly to be praised!
Welcoming and Empowering God, we worship you.
We lift our eyes to you, and we celebrate your faithfulness.
Holy is the Lord our God, and greatly to be praised!
We lift our eyes, seeking to worship and praise our God. Amen.
Children’s Sermon – Rev. Lisa Williams Hood
Hymn of Reflection – Come Away From Rush & Hurry
(Verse 1) Come away from rush and hurry to the stillness of God’s peace;
From our vain ambition’s worry, come in Christ to find release.
Come away from noise and clamor, life’s demands and frenzied pace;
Come to join the people gathered here to seek and find God’s love.
(Verse 2) In the pastures of God’s goodness we lie down to rest our soul.
From the waters of God’s mercy we drink deeply, are made whole.
At the table of God’s presence all the saints are richly fed.
With the oil of God’s anointing into service we are led.
(Verse 3) Come, then, children, with your burdens- life’s confusions, fears and pain.
Leave them at the cross of Jesus; take instead his kingdom’s reign.
Bring your thirsts, for he will quench them- he alone will satisfy.
All our longings find attainment when itself we gladly die.

Hymn of Faith – ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus
(Verse 1) ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his word,
Just to rest upon his promise, just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
(Refrain) Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him! How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust him more!
(Verse 3) Yes, ‘tis sweet to trust in Jesus, just from sin and self to cease,
Just from Jesus simply taking life and rest, and joy and peace.
(Refrain) Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him! How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust him more!
