Prelude – “Rejoice, the Lord is King” arr. Pethel – Melanie Manges

Welcome to Worship – Len Wilson

Gathering Song “Give Thanks”

Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks to the Holy One,
Give thanks because he’s given Jesus Christ his Son. (Repeat)
And now, let the weak say “I am strong,”
Let the poor say, “I am rich,”
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
And now, let the weak say “I am strong,”
Let the poor say, “I am rich,”
Because of what the Lord has done for us.
Give thanks!

Call to Worship – (Psalm 100, from The Message by Eugene Peterson) – Len Wilson

On your feet now – applaud God!
Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence.
Know this: God is God. He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.
Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.
For God is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.
Let us worship God with joy!

Hymn of Praise – “Rejoice, the Lord is King!”

(Verse 1) Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore!
Rejoice, give thanks, and sing, and triumph evermore:
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say rejoice!
(Verse 2) Our Savior, Jesus, reigns,
the God of truth and love;
when he had purged our stains, he took his seat above:
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say rejoice!

“Just As I Am” arr. Paxton

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Len Wilson

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
 as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Special Music – “Nearer, Still Nearer” arr. Lloyd Larson

Old Testament Reading – Psalm 100 (NIV) – Rev. Hood

Sermon – Giving Grateful Praise – Rev. Hood

Hymn of Adoration – “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name!”

(Verse 1) All hail the power of Jesus’ name! Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all;
Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all!
(Verse 3) Let every kindred, every tribe on this terrestrial ball,
To him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all;
To him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all!

Offering Len Wilson

Almighty God, giver of every good and perfect gift,
Teach us to give to you all that we have and all that we are,
That we might praise you not with our words only,
But with our whole lives. Amen.
