Lafayette First Baptist Church and Temple Israel have renewed their tradition of exchanging “baby sitting” services for events important to the respective congregations. Joan Hunt, Carol Starr, Mary Wilkinson, and Gordon Coppoc enjoyed being with Temple Israel children during the recent Jewish High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Temple Israel members will take care of the children of First Baptist for its Christmas Eve services. This exchange reflects the deep respect the congregations have for each other and their traditions.
