North Street Congregations Worship for Sunday, October 18, 2015

The North Street Congregations invite you to join us for one or both of the services to be held this Sunday, October 18, 2015.

First Baptist Church will hold its Sunday Worship service at 9:30 a.m. this coming Sunday as usual. The Rev. Dr. Gary Reif, Transitional Pastor, will deliver a sermon entitled “A Divine Center” with Isaiah 55:6-13 as the primary scripture. Dr. Rod Zambrows will read the scripture. The “Preparation for Worship” reading printed at the top of the bulletin is –

“What the world knows of God, it will know through us.  For better or worse, we are the good news, the gospel, we are the light of the world.  And we dare not wait for more qualified Christians, better prayers, better definite rules to come along and do our work for us.  No, the work of God awaits our hands; the love of God awaits our hearts; and the people of God await our fellowship, here and now, ordinary and imperfect though we be.” Peter Gomez

Please join us to learn more. Our “ Community in Reflection and Prayer” service will feature the hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and an opportunity to light a candle for a private prayer during the service. Gordon Coppoc will serve as the lay leader. The Choral Anthem will be a medley of “Amazing Grace” with “Grace Greater than Our Sin”. Jacob Garrett will sing a solo on one of the verses. Worship services include, depending on the Sunday, a small choir and a variety of instruments including organ, piano, flute, cello, guitar, and hand bells (not a bell choir).
