North Street Congregations Worship for Sunday, October 4, 2015

The North Street Congregations invite you to join us for one or both of the services to be held this Sunday, October 4, 2015.

First Baptist Church will hold its Sunday Worship service at 9:30 a.m. this coming Sunday as usual. Communion will be served by “Intinction” to all who wish to participate. The Rev. Dr. Gary Reif, Transitional Pastor, will deliver a sermon entitled “The Bread and the Crumbs” with Mark 7:24-32 as the primary scripture. Dr. Rod Zambrows will read the Hebrew scripture, Exodus 16:11-20. The “Preparation for Worship” reading printed at the top of the bulletin is “The first communion services today will occur in the Fiji Islands and New Zealand near the international date line.  As the world swings around and the sun dawns on each continent, members of all Christian churches will gather at the Lord’s table in response to Jesus’ invitation, “This do in remembrance of me.” Please join us to learn more. Our “ Community in Reflection and Prayer” service will feature the hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and an opportunity to light a candle for a private prayer during the service. Dwight Herin will serve as the lay leader. Worship services include, depending on the Sunday, a small choir and a variety of instruments including organ, piano, flute, cello, guitar, and hand bells (not a bell choir).
