Prelude – “Christ the Lord is Risen Today!” arr. Bober – Melanie Manges, piano

Welcome to Worship – Sylvia Mohler

One: Christ is Risen!
All: Christ is Risen, Indeed!

Hymn of Proclamation – “Christ the Lord is Risen Today!” – Worship Team

(Verse 1) Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
All creation, join to say Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

(Verse 2) Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

(Verse 3) Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave?

Call to Worship* – Sylvia Mohler

One: This day is like every other day.
All: Alarm clocks beeped. Covers were removed.
Coffee was brewed. Weary bodies came to life.
One: And yet this day, is like no other day-
All: For the sun rose, and we knew it was a miracle.
The tomb was empty, and they knew it was love.
One: So again and again we say-
All: The longest night is over.
Death has lost its sting.
Jesus is among us.
Alleluia! Amen.
One: Again and again and again.
All: Alleluia! Amen.

Children’s Sermon – Rev. Lisa Williams Hood

Hymn of Triumph – “Christ Arose!”

(Verse 1) Low in the grave he lay-
Jesus my Savior, waiting the coming day-
Jesus my Lord!
(Refrain) Up from the grave he arose (he arose),
With a mighty triumph o’er his foes (he arose!)
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And he lives forever with his saints to reign.
He arose! (He arose!) He arose! (He arose!)
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

(Verse 3) Death cannot keep his prey-
Jesus my Savior, he tore the bars away-
Jesus my Lord!

Affirmation of Faith – Rev. Hood & Congregation

One: We know the fear of the upper room.
All: We know the feeling of hard days and long nights.
One: We know the grief of the tomb,
All: And the particular ache of saying goodbye.
One: We know the pain of Good Friday,
All: And we know the darkness before dawn.
One: And still,
All: And still, We believe.
One: We believe that again and again, the sun will rise.
All: Again and again, God will draw near.
One: Again and again, we will march toward justice.
All: Again and again, the tomb will be empty.
One: Again and again, love will win.
All: Again and again, God will lead the church.
One: Again and again,
All: And again and again,
We will be loved.

“I Know That My Redeemer Liveth” Handel

Affirmation of Faith, Part 2 – Rev. Hood & Congregation

One: The journey will not be perfect.
All: We will need to rise before dawn.
We will need angels along the way.
One: But again and again, All: The sun will rise.
We believe.
Amen.

Hymn of Affirmation – “He Lives”

(Verse 1) I serve a risen Savior, he’s in the world today;
I know that he is living, whatever some may say;
I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer,
And just the time I need him he’s always near.

(Refrain) He lives, (he lives), he lives, (he lives), Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives, (he lives), he lives, (he lives), Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart.

(Verse 2) In all the world around me I see his loving care,
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair;
I know that he is leading through all the stormy blast,
The day of his appearing will come at last.
